Despite Aiden cringing inwardly about baring his soul to Mitchell, nothing changed between them as they got ready for the day and the journey they needed to make farther down the mountain. The second day turned out to be much like the first, pushing through tangled undergrowth and chasing down camera locations forty-seven and fifty-one. There was more climbing of trees, only this time Mitchell didn’t hold back, giving Aiden the required push up with hands firmly on his tight ass, offering appreciative noises that sounded to Aiden like lewd suggestions that he was totally getting behind.

When Aiden had jumped down at camera fifty-one, falling to a crouch, Mitchell held out a hand and pulled him to stand, pushing him gently back against the aged bark of the gnarled tree and stealing heated kisses.

They talked, Aiden telling Mitchell as much as he could about Ben that didn’t involve revealing his actual identity or the whole paparazzi thing. He still wasn’t ready to reveal who he was and he didn’t question why. He liked being safe in the anonymity of Aiden Samuels. Mitchell was interested in Aiden without knowing about the money or the fact Aiden was actually his boss out there in the real world beyond the Great Bear Rainforest. And that was it. The real world was hundreds of miles away in another country, so far away that Aiden was forgetting.

Mitchell listened and talked about his college experience, how he had met and shared a room in the dorms and then a house with Scot, the same Scot who was scheduled to be here with Aiden but had to attend his sister’s wedding. The same Scot who got Mitchell drunk, got Mitchell high, got Mitchell into bar fights, in fact seemed to get Mitchell in trouble at every turn. The same Scot who made Mitchell’s college years a time of enjoyable experiences and memories. Aiden was envious that Mitchell had a friend that went that far back, a friend that accepted him for who he was and who he worked with. The official side of him, well that side was a little concerned that this firebrand that was Scot Fowler was working with Aiden’s animals, but still, Mitchell said Scot loved his work and that he had settled down a lot since college.

They had their first evidence of the bears as they neared the stop for the next evening, evidence of last fall’s denning in a thick pile of brush forced up into the hollow of a tree. Aiden noted it down and managed to get the coordinates from the mapping and the GIS system. For a few minutes they explored the surrounding area and added to the notes, and Aiden was surprised when Mitchell moved up behind him and pulled him around for a kiss. When they parted Mitchell was grinning ear to ear. The smile was infectious and had a promise of more kisses.

They made it to the next cabin shelter around four. This was an even smaller affair than the one the night before and had two small cots pushed close.
